What we do NOT provide!

Our Agency does not provide professional medical, psychiatric, psychological, counseling, or social work services. We are a group of Lay Counselors performing a spiritual counseling and prayer ministry based upon the principles of Lay Nouthetic Counseling — a directive counseling method not based on the medical or psychological model, but upon Christian principles derived from Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the experience and teachings of the Saints.

Please consult your own physician, mental health provider, or appropriate health care provider, about the applicability of any opinions or recommendations with respect to your own symptoms, or medical or psychiatric conditions; your priestly confessor or spiritual director with respect to your spiritual health, and the official documents of the Church concerning official Catholic Church teaching.

Concerning Online Services

Online resources are not meant to and cannot replace the specialized training and professional judgment of a health care or mental health care professional. While Online Counseling can be productive and is a growing in practice among Mental Health professionals, not all problems and situations can be properly handled online or by telephone.

This is What We Can Do For You!

Our Agency will only conduct counseling for those problems or issues that we feel are within our competence to handle and that can be handled productively over the telephone or online (email, voice or text chatroom, instant message, or message board). (We do offer a limited amount of in-office and field counseling).

As a Lay Nouthetic Counsellors there are only three types of counseling services we offer. If your needs require a form of counseling we do not provide, or involve issues not well suited for online or telephone counseling, we suggest you seek out the applicable professional.

The first two forms of counseling listed below may be offered by our parent organization, the Oblates and Missioners of St. Michael. The third form is the specialty of the St. Padre Pio Center for Deliverance Counseling:

  1. Religious/Spiritual Counseling: A form of counseling based upon helping the client modify or change his worldview, lifestyle, or behavioral patterns to conform to Christian ideals of holiness and sanctity based upon principles of the Bible, Sacred Tradition, and the experiences of the Saints, through techniques of verbal catharsis, pastoral counseling, cognitive therapy, and participation in the Sacraments and activities of the Church and the apostolic life.
  2. Spiritual Direction: A form of counseling that actively offers reassurance, suggestion, advice, support, and direction to help the client grow and mature spiritually as a Catholic Christian.
  3. Deliverance Counseling: A form of counseling that assists the client in dealing with Spiritual Warfare issues in order to gain freedom from bondage and harassment from evil influences.
